POWER OUTAGE

SUMMARY:
Due to the nature of how our electricity is created and delivered, unforeseeable and uncontrollable events can occur which results in power outages, putting sensitive electronic loads and equipment at risk. Well there is hope and an method to reduce the risk significantly associated with such unfortunate events.

A power outage can occur from numerous reasons and when it strikes, it is over for your sensitive electronic equipment unless you have a properly maintained and fully operational redundant power source such as a UPS InLine supplying your equipment. As depicted above, a UPS can alleviate the downfalls from an outage by supplying the load with not only the required 120 VAC(1Φ), 208 VAC or 480 VAC(3Φ), in the US for the sensitive equipment, but can provide a constant regulated voltage output to the load.

When an outage does occur the Rectifier shuts off due to the lack of AC input voltage. However the DC Bus feeding the Inverter is still energized because of the shared common node with the Battery. The Battery is this key component that keeps your equipment up and running during an outage provided they are well maintained and not faulty. As compared with Normal UPS Flow operation the output remains at a steady state regardless what the input is doing. Therefore keeping your sensitive equipment running.
